Prior to his work with the TAY population, Danny served as a counselor at San Francisco’s Juvenile Justice Center and worked within the juvenile justice system from 2009 to 2017. During his time working within the juvenile justice system, Danny was a founding member of a groundbreaking pilot program at the San Francisco Youth Guidance Center, The Juvenile Collaborative Reentry Team (JCRT). JCRT was a collaborative between the San Francisco Superior Courts, Juvenile Probation, the San Francisco Public Defender's Office, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, and The Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice. The goal of JCRT was to curb the high recidivism rates among youth placed in out of home placement. The program quickly became a nationally recognized model and was featured at the annual conference hosted by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).
